One of the most renowned universities in Japan for its academics and student life, Waseda University offers 2 possible programs for CSU IP students (effective Academic Year 2024-25):
School of International and Liberal Studies (SILS)
Students enrolled at the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS) take 6 credits of Japanese language, including a comprehensive language course each semester. In addition to language courses, students will enroll in SILS courses taught in English each semester from a wide variety of subject areas such as history, politics, economics, and culture.
School of Political Science and Economics (SPSE)
Students enrolled at the School of Political Science and Economics (SPSE) take 5 units of Japanese language, including a comprehensive language course in their first semester plus SPSE courses taught in English. In the second semester, students take 3 units of Japanese language in addition to SPSE electives. Courses at SPSE are designed specifically for Political Science, International Relations, and Economics majors. CSU IP's programs in Japan are administered by full-time local CSU staff based at Waseda University.
