OMED: Educational Services
Constructed in 1910 to serve as Georgia Tech's first on-campus infirmary, the Joseph Brown Whitehead Memorial Hospital was made possible by generous donor, Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans. A half a century later, the hospital was relocated and the building was renovated and repurposed to house the Dean of Students Office. In 1987, the building was renamed in memory of Lloyd W. Chapin, Georgia Tech's former registrar and dean of faculties. Today, the Chapin Building houses OMED: Educational Services, which provides programming to support traditionally underrepresented students.
