Providence College's Peterson Recreation Center is home base for PC's intramural sports, open recreation, club sports, and fitness activities. Its Concannon Fitness Center features contemporary exercise equipment, available personal training services, and numerous group exercise classes. The Peterson Recreation Center is the hub of all intramural, athletic, and recreational activity at Providence College. Opened in 1980 and named for former College President Rev. Thomas R Peterson O.P., the center is home to the Begley Arena, Cuddy Racquetball Complex, and Taylor Natatorium, along with locker rooms, an exercise and dance studio, and an equipment checkout area.
