The UTC Sports Complex next to historic Engel Stadium. In Fall of 2019, Mocs Soccer started playing all home matches on the site. The facility includes four multi-purpose, synthetic turf fields for flag football, lacrosse, soccer and Ultimate Frisbee, plus one grass field for rugby and band practice. There also are a quarter-mile walking track and three sand volleyball courts. The complex has a clubhouse with restrooms and maintenance/storage areas, two pavilions, seating areas with shade structures and concrete bins for bulk material storage. The entire complex is covered by LED lighting designed to focus on the sports fields and not spill over into the surrounding community.
Engel Stadium was built in 63 days and opened on April 1, 1930 with a game between the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Atlanta Crackers, The Lookouts won 6-5. Among the famous baseball players who visited the park were Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron. The final game in the park was Sept. 10, 1999.
