        1. Dixon Hall

Dixon Hall houses the Department of Theatre and Dance.

The Newcomb Music Department's concert band, symphony orchestra, and jazz ensembles frequently perform here, as well as classical piano and guitar concert series. Dixon Concert Hall is also home to the critically acclaimed Summer Lyric Theater and Friends of Music Concert Series.

Dixon Hall was designed and built in 1929 by Emile Weil architects. Recital and practice rooms, a 1,000 seat proscenium theater, central offices for the band and choral programs. The building was added onto in 1984 by Leake and Associates architects. The practice facilities are accessible to music students 24 hours a day. Tulane is an all-Steinway campus and every practice room has a Steinway piano. Students do not need to be theater, dance, or music majors to participate in any of Tulane's performance groups.
