      1. Lyle Shelmidine

         The Shelmidine Room in Collins Memorial Library, Second Floor
         Dr. Shelmidine was a professor of Far East history and served Puget Sound for nearly 30 years, 1937-1966. This rare book reading room was dedicated by "his loving friends and old associates" on March 4, 1975.
