      1. Sprenger Memorial Garden

         Laura Mae Sprenger was director of health services at Puget Sound. Her husband, Robert ’40, was professor from 1946 to 1970. The Sprenger family dedicated the garden in 1996, and the plaque reads:

         What the heart gives away is never gone...
         it is kept in the hearts of others.

         In loving memory of Laura Mae Sprenger
         May 6, 1917 - Oct. 6, 1994
         Devoted mother, teacher, friend in our hearts forever.
