The Blarney Stone holds no relation to the real Blarney Stone in Ireland, and its origins at Tulane are unknown; however, for many years, the stone was the object of rivalry between the School of Engineering and School of Business students. Each school successively abducting the stone from another led to its permanent placement to a pedestal outside of Stanley Thomas Hall in 1994.
