        1. Latin American Library

Tulane's Latin American Library is located on the fourth floor of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. The library used to be located in the MARI, but has now been expanded to over 115,000 volumes and numerous manuscript collections, maps, rare books, newspapers, rubbings, and the Latin American Photographic Archive.

The Codex Tulane is among the greatest treasures of Tulane's collection, and depicts the genealogy of the ruling family of a Mexican town. The 12' long piece of parchment combines the Pre-Colombian pictographic writing with later Mixtec language glosses added in European alphabet.
