           About

Sage Hill is a 3.5 acre patch of wildlife in the Northwest corner of UCLA's campus which still contains native Los Angeles flora and fauna! It represents the largest remaining patch of native California habitat in West LA south of Sunset Boulevard.  Despite the amount of land degradation this patch has gone through, it has still been able to support the native biodiversity that resides within it. Sage Hill has been used by many faculty for teaching activities and as well as supporting student outdoor recreation activities. There are currently many environmental groups on campus that work to restore Sage Hill back to its pre-degraded condition. Additionally, in Spring 2022 TGIF had funded a "Developing a Weed Management Plan to Support Habitat Restoration for $868 in order to mitigate the weed problem that prevents the growth of native species and that poses an increased fire risk during fire season.
