About
This project was a partnership of HCI (Healthy Campus Initiative) and UCLA Sustainability in spring of 2014 that helped get the project off the ground with the installation of "Take the Stairs" place cards on all eight floors of FSPH. This project then became known as the Stair-Well, that aimed to promote the use of stairs over the elevators through infrastructure and design changes, reactivating existing spaces, and visual cues on the elevators and on the stairway entrance. The components now implemented into the stairwell today are newly painted walls and handrails, cleaning the stairwell, adding a bulletin board for things to get posted there, colorful artwork, and vinyl decals on elevators that encourage behavior change.
