Occupancy Sensory Installation Project
About
In addition to reducing energy use through more efficient lighting UCLA has undertaken a major occupancy sensor installation project. This project is a campus-wide program to install occupancy sensors in offices, storerooms, conference rooms, bathrooms, and stairwells across campus. So far over 11,000 sensors have been installed in 40 buildings. The sensors installed include infrared, ultrasonic, and dual-technology sensors. This is a great way for energy conservation because it ensures that lights are only being used when people are in the vicinity; thus, saving energy when no one is around.
