In fiscal years 2023-2024, Boise State received $90M in deferred maintenance funds from the State of Idaho. These funds will allow us to complete several top projects on the university’s capital renewal/deferred maintenance list. Projects on this list address deficiencies in our campus facilities and infrastructure that had been deferred until funds were available. View more on our website.
Projected project dates: 6/5/24 to 12/18/25
- ADA Ramp Replacement: This project is to replace the existing concrete ramp stairs and concrete topping slab on existing landing on the east exit from the building. Installation of new handrails on both sides of the ramp and stairs. The existing guardrail will be removed and modified to meet ADA requirements and will be reinstalled. A portion of the existing utility tunnel will be replaced and two new access hatches will be installed in the tunnel.
- Switchgear Replacements: The switchgear in the Library, SMASH, Math Geo, and Liberal Arts is either reaching end of life or is well past end of life. Replacing these systems now improves the safety of maintenance personnel that operate this equipment as well as improving the resiliency of other systems in the building. This allows Boise State to still continues its goals of providing world class education and research.
