         About

This Butterfly Garden is part of a Butterfly Restoration Project at UCLA. Butterfly Gardens provide a habitat for any butterflies in the surrounding area. Researching and observing the certain type of species in the region will allow you to cater your garden to the butterflies that could potentially visit them. This is important as the right habitat can encourage the butterflies to lay their eggs in your garden. Not only that, but a healthy and active butterfly garden will also bring in native bees and birds. Despite how small they are, butterflies can play a huge role in increasing biodiversity – the variety of plants, animals and microorganisms and their ecosystems.
