Shango Hall is a residence hall within the Parker complex. The Parker complex is composed of traditional corridor-style hallways. Lounges can be found on the basement level. Located in the basement of Shango Hall are a study lounge with a computer lounge, television lounges, and a kitchen. Located on the first and second floors are small laundry rooms equipped with washers and dryers, with a recycling area and microwave oven located in the kitchen. Vending machines are also located on the first floor.
College Hall (the Music Building), the academic section of Shango/College Hall, is located between Shango and College halls. This section of the building houses the offices, practice studios and clinics for the Music and Music Therapy programs. Located at the center of the first floor of the Music Building is the Max and Nadia Sheppard Recital Hall.
Additionally, the Scholar's Mentorship Program (SMP), a networking program designed to enhance the academic careers and social experiences of general admission students of color during their undergraduate years, is housed in Shango near the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Educational Center.
Shango Hall is five minutes away from Main Street New Paltz and is the closest hall to the village.
