About
This building reflects the Meyer & Renee Luskin's and UCLA's commitment to a more sustainable society in the future with its Platinum LEED certification. The feature of large windows allows a copious amount of natural light to enter, which acts as a method for energy conservation as pushes away from a reliance of artificial lighting during the daytime. They opted for more green building material as the it was made from a over 90% recycled material steel frame, wood paneling from sustainability managed forests, and locally manufactured exterior brick. In terms of how the center advocates its sustainability to its guest, when inside you can read it in the information book found in all of the guest rooms in the building. Not only that, but they have towel recycling & composting programs for guests to participate, an all EV fleet, plant-based shower amenities, and linen-less banquet set ups as way to intertwine its sustainable practices into the everyday functions of this building.
