The University off-campus apartments are part of the sustainable initiatives in order to promote green living. For water conservation, dual flush toilets, low flow shower and faucets were installed. For energy conservation, only energy star appliance were installed in each unit. In the summer of 2013, the University Apartments partnered with LADWP to replace refrigerators to more energy efficient ones and more water efficient toilets, which annually saves around 4 million gallons of water. Lastly, for mindful sustainable practices, a donation bin program, a produce program, and composting are available for the residents to partake in.
