           About

The construction and placement of this structure unifies 2 existing buildings built in the 1960s. A fun aspect of this building is what it was able to create space for an outdoor room with terraced landscapes. It obtains energy efficiency through proper form and solar orientation, innovative building envelope and mechanical design, as well as upgrading the operating and monitoring systems to meet the new standards. On the long term sustainability scale, this project is great as the use of a long span building structure reduced the amount of columns and allows for very adaptable floor plans for any future renovations. For water design, a consulting engineering firm, KPFF, was able to work alongside the Contech Engineered Solutions LLC to design an on-site storm water solution to optimize the design and maximize the infiltration volume to collect runoff from the roof and parking lot. In addition to that, there is a Stormwater Management StrormFilter(designed to filter oil, grease, trash, and total supposed solids) installed on the North side that provides treatment and infiltration in one structure.
