UCLA has commissioned Integral Group and Icon west for this repair and refurbishment of Hedrick's interiors. This building now includes HVAC units with varibale speed fans, which saves energy by automatically adjusting its speed based on occupancy load and climate conditions. Additionally, the swtich to all-LED lighting has reduced electricty consumption. The use of modulating airside economizers allow the use of outside air to then ventilate inside when conditions enable. For the exterior of Hedrick, the high-quality galzing added reduced heat gain and glare, which helps regulate the indoor temperature. Also noting the installment of an electronic temperature control system as additional energy saving technique.
