           About

This project consisted of a 20,000 sq. ft. renovation of the Hedrick Hall's ground floor into a combined study and dining facility. This MEP-intensive renovation, our energy-efficient design strategies include HVAC units with variable speed fans, which automatically adjust their speed based upon variations in climate and occupancy loads. All-LED lighting reduces the electricity consumed in a building occupied 24/7. The study and lounge spaces have fully modulating airside economizers, which maximize the use of outside air to ventilate the occupied areas when conditions are favorable. Their building energy analysis prompted the selection of high-quality glazing for the renovation, which reduces heat gain and glare. The combination of these design features adds up to significant energy savings, helping the project to achieve LEED Gold certification.
