Climbing shoes may be rented for a small fee and they are available free of charge on one's first visit to the wall. The Wooden Center also offers quarterly rock climbing courses. Courses that may be offered include Movement on Rock, Climbing 101, and Introduction to Belaying. In addition, the Wooden Center hosts the annual Dangling Bruin friendly bouldering competition.
