Originally built in 1931, the Fort was renovated in 2021 to be ADA accessible and environmentally sustainable, achieving LEED Gold and Living Building Petals certifications. The building offers 13 student bedrooms and one guest bedroom with eight shared bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, study spaces and laundry facilities. Sustainable features include geothermal wells for heating, water-saving fixtures, triple-glazed windows, an envelope of insulation and a rooftop hot water solar collector and heat recovery system. Plastics and toxic materials were avoided in construction.
