       About

Named in honor of film director James Bridges (The China Syndrome), the theater become one of the outstanding screening venues in Southern California, due to the generous support of the filmmaker's partner, actor Jack Larson, and the Bridges/Larson Foundation. The main screening venue of the UCLA Department of Film, Television and Digital Media, the state of the art James Bridges Theater is an elegant, comfortable setting that enhances media presentations in a wide variety of film and video formats. With a large lobby available for receptions, and adjacent to the beautiful Broad Art Complex and the famous Murphy Sculpture Garden on the UCLA campus in Westwood, this 278 seat theater is now available for rental. It was completely renovated in 2003 with a state of the art sound system and is one of the few theaters in the US that can accommodate both nitrate and safety film stock in 16mm, 35mm and 70mm, as well as a variety of video formats, including the latest in 4K digital projection.
