Murdy Hall (East Village Beta)
600 Haygood Street, Oxford, GA 30054
Completed in the Fall of 2008, East Village is comprised of two “L” shaped buildings, Elizer and Murdy Halls. The complex houses 350 freshmen and sophomores and is one of Emory University’s LEED-certified, Green dorms. The two three-story buildings form a large courtyard, complete with a grove of mature trees and a water feature that leads to an underground reservoir. Both buildings have plenty of community space, as well as rooms for individual or group study. The first floor of Murdy has a large kitchen for student use and is also used by the culinary club. Both males and females live on the same floors, but each gender has their own RA. East Village also houses Student Health Services, Student Counseling Center, and the Career Center.
