    1. Lion Shrine/Lion Plaza

Lion Plaza at Penn State Behrend, dedicated on September 14, 2006, was made possible by the 2003 and 2004 graduating classes, University Trustee Ted Junker, Council of Fellows member Michael Woods, the Penn State Alumni Association Lake Erie Chapter, the Penn State Behrend Alumni Society, Penn State Behrend Athletics, and the Student Activity Fee. Dahlkemper Landscape Architects & Contractors, Weber Murphy Fox Architects, and Werley Associates—Landscape Architects contributed to the Plaza’s design and construction.

As with all Commonwealth Campuses, Penn State Behrend’s replica is 75 percent to scale of the original shrine.

The symbols of Penn State, including the Lion mascot, Lion shrine, and Penn State Behrend’s Lion Plaza, stand as visible, permanent reminders of the pride that students take in their Penn State experiences, and in the value of their Penn State degrees.
