About
Rieber Hall is located in Rieber Court and is one of the four classic residential buildings on campus with double and triple room types in a high-rise experience. Rieber Hall features community bathrooms with 4-6 shower stalls, toilets and sinks, as well as study lounges on every floor. The communal laundry room is located on the ground floor as well as a 24-hour front desk, study, and meeting rooms. Aside from the study lounges, Rieber Hall also offers large social lounges where students can enjoy different programs put on throughout the year. Although the building does not have air conditioning, nice breezes off the ocean that is only 5 miles away, help keep temps cooler.
Every room is furnished with a bed (twin XL), desk, and dresser (both closet and drawer space) for each resident.
This building received UC Platinum LEED Certification for Commercial Interiors. Rieber Hall is named after Charles Henry Rieber, a professor of philosophy and the first dean of the College of Letters and Science, served from 1921 to 1936. He was the first to use the initials UCLA.
