About
Dykstra Hall is located in De Neve Plaza and is one of the four classic residential buildings on campus with double and triple room types in a high-rise experience. Dykstra Hall features community bathrooms with 4-6 shower stalls, toilets and sinks, as well as study lounges on every floor. The communal laundry room is located on the ground floor. Aside from the study lounges, Dykstra Hall also offers large social lounges where students can enjoy different programs put on throughout the year. Although the building does not have air conditioning, nice breezes off the ocean that is only 5 miles away, help keep temps cooler.
Every room is furnished with a bed (twin XL), desk, and dresser (both closet and drawer space) for each resident.
Dykstra Hall is named after Clarence Addison Dykstra, who was chosen provost and vice president of UCLA in 1944. He taught political science on both the Vermont Avenue and Westwood campuses, from 1922-30.
