      Franz Hall is named in honor of Shepherd Ivory Franz, an American psychologist and the first chairman of the psychology department at UCLA. Franz, who served as president of the American Psychological Association, was the editor of multiple psychological journals and contributed research to the concepts of neuroplasticity, afterimages and cerebral localization. Franz Hall is home to the UCLA Psychologyn Department.
