Built in 2012, the center became the focal point of the gardens when it opened. It is located on the southeast section of the garden with access off of 22nd Avenue. With 9,350 square feet, the center (SMVC) features a help desk, gift shop and coffee shop, large and small meeting rooms. The center houses an extensive historical background on the 25-acre garden and 45-acre arboretum that grew from a vision of SDSU Professor S.A. McCrory in the early 1960s.
