         Combining species monitoring and community education to protect and preserve habitat for least terns and other shorebirds across beaches in Los Angeles, California. Surveying the Venice Beach least tern colony, documenting nesting cycles, vegetation within the colony area, and predation/mortality rate. Educating public school students and the general public about shorebirds and the importance of habitat conservation.
