Covering 9.7 acres of coastal bluff and lagoon edge, the Manzanita Village Restoration Project began in August of 2002 and includes native grassland and coast sage scrub habitats surrounding the featured seasonal wetlands known as vernal pools, along with the creation of 1,300 linear feet of bioswales. Bioswales are narrow wetlands designed to convey and filter stormwater.
