      1. Forest Property

Syracuse University owns nearly 100 acres of forest property in Upstate New York. Forests help absorb or sequester carbon in the atmosphere, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In 2023, the forest property was quantified and the amount of carbon sequestered annually was calculated. This information is vital as the University has a goal to become carbon neutral by 2032.
