      1. Colvin Street Lot Lighting

The original lighting in the Colvin Avenue parking lots consisted of 44 high-pressure sodium bulbs. These bulbs were very inefficient and used approximately 138 Watts to 1100 Watts of energy per bulb resulting in a total energy usage of 18,478W. This project replaced these bulbs with more efficient LED streetlights, floodlights, and outdoor mounted wall lights ranging from 52 Watts to 321 Watts. The switch allowed the University to cut the total energy usage of the lot by 26% and resulted in annual savings of 60,243 kWH/year. This project also allowed the University to continue its goal of reducing greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions on campus to positively impact the surrounding environment.
