Burton Hall
As the oldest residence hall on campus, Burton has a classic college dorm vibe. Originally named simply the Men’s Dormitory, then West Hall, it was finally renamed after Marion LeRoy Burton, a class of 1900 Carleton alum who went on to serve as president of Smith College, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Michigan. Room shape, size, and configuration will vary due to the building’s age and renovations, so check out the floor plans before

! Also connected to residence halls Davis and Severance (aka Sevy) as well as Sayles-Hill Campus Center, Burton sits at the center of what’s known as The Complex, making it prime real estate at Carleton, especially in the winter. Burton also hosts one of the two dining halls on campus—another contributor to its popularity among students.
