        The building is named after Harvey Stork, professor of botany at Carleton from 1920 to 1955 and a primary driving force behind the initial establishment of the nearby Cowling Arboretum — and its maintenance, along with grounds superintendent D. Blake “Stewsie” Stewart, for almost thirty years.
