Sunshine Cottage is the administrative headquarters of New York Medical College. The offices of the president, chancellor, and senior administrative leadership are located here, along with the Offices of Student Financial Planning, Housing, Bursar, Public Relations, and the School of Medicine Offices of the Dean, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Admissions, and Undergraduate Medical Education.
Sunshine Cottage was originally built in 1941 as a pediatric tuberculosis hospital when Westchester County experienced a severe polio epidemic. The adult tuberculosis hospital at the time was Grasslands Hospital (present-day Munger Pavilion).
