The International Student Center (ISC) offers the International Year program for students who wish to improve their English language skills before progressing on to full enrollment in undergraduate courses at the university. International Year is a pathway or bridge program designed to prepare students for entry into the undergraduate degree program at JMU. Depending on their level of English proficiency, students spend 1, 2, 3, or 4 semesters in the International Study Center. ISC students take non-credit English courses alongside JMU undergraduate credit courses. This comprehensive program emphasizes academics, cultural transition, and language acquisition.
