Napela Drive, the road between BYU–Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center, is named after Jonathan Nāpela, one of George Q. Cannon's original Hawaiian converts on Maui in 1852. The two worked together to translate the Book of Mormon into the Hawaiian language.
