      1. Preserving Anbinik: Indigenous Fire Management

         Organization: Karrkad Kanjdji Trust
         
         Protecting the Anbinik tree in the Stone Country of the Arnhem Land Plateau from wildfire using both indigenous ecological knowledge and contemporary tools. Warddeken Indigenous rangers will protect vulnerable patches of Anbinik, an ancient ancestor of the widespread eucalyptus genus, which has great cultural significance to the Indigenous people of the region, but is not well known to western science.
