         Scientific Name: Magnolia grandiflora

         Type: Coniferous
         Origin: This tree is indigenous to the southeastern United States but sporadically found all along the East coast.

         Fun Fact: This tree is the state tree of Mississippi; it was decided in an election run by the Mississippi Director of Forestry in 1938 for schoolchildren to decide their new state tree.
