        Fun Fact: The wood of this tree resists splitting and wears smoothly and evenly, which made it good for the construction of wheels, weaving shuttles, hay forks, and machine bearings historically. Today, this wood is still used in the creation of golf club heads, walking canes, tool handles, spindles and mallet heads.
