The residence (SWBC) has served as the official home of SDSU's presidents from 1903 until 2017 when the new President's Home was completed. The wood-frame home's Queen Anne architecture was maintained through additions of a solarium in 1932 and that of a utility room and breakfast nook after World War II. Woodbine Cottage underwent extensive renovation in 1999, maintaining its integrity as a building on the National Register of Historic Places.
