The Root is the State of Montana Arboretum's interpretive site located on the north side of Main Hall and south of the Natural Sciences Building. It features six interpretive signs about the Arboretum and trees in general.
The UM campus serves as the
State of Montana Arboretum. It
showcases eight forest regions of North America and has more than 2,000 trees growing across campus.
