      1. UM Police Department

        The University of Montana Police Department (UMPD) serves and protects the students, staff, faculty and all people and property within the University of Montana campus and properties.

        UM's dispatchers and police officers are on duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year.  UM police officers have the exclusive responsibility to act upon law-enforcement matters and perform police functions for the UM Main Campus and the Missoula College. UM police officers investigate all crimes and enforce federal, state and local laws as well as University of Montana policies.


        To report an emergency to the UM Police Department, call 406-243-4000. To reach the UMPD for an non-emergency matter, call 406-243-6131.

        UMPD offices are located in the Physical Plant building in northeast corner of campus.
        Accessibility

        Accessible Entrance: The main entrance on the north side of the building that houses the UM Police Department has a ramp and there is a door with an automatic opener that enters into the building lobby. In the lobby, there are service windows for Facilities Services, the UM Police Department, Mail Services and UM Parking. There is also a locked door within the lobby that leads to employee offices.
