Phi Gamma Hall
136 Few Circle, Oxford, GA 30054
Built in 1851, Phi Gamma is the oldest building standing on campus today. During the Civil War, it was used as first a Confederate hospital, then occupied by Union troops. Some believe the ghost of a Confederate nurse still haunts the building. Recently, the hall was renovated and is now used as a reading room for students. Phi Gamma began as a literary society, and this building housed the debates. It is now open 24 hours a day as a quiet study hall.
