         HISTORY

         Named for the late Mother Florence Walter, CDP, a former superior general of the Congregation of Divine Providence. Mother Florence was instrumental in the construction of Main Building, the first structure on the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University. When the Walter Center was first built, it served as the university library. It was renovated in the early 2000s to serve as a one-stop location for many student services after the construction of the Sueltenfuss Library.
