Carolina football has been a source of Tar Heel pride since the University’s first season in 1888. The largest ram sculpture in the world and a statue of Carolina football’s legendary Charlie “Choo Choo” Justice are located outside the Kenan Football Center, which features a multimedia history of Carolina football with photographs, awards, trophies and artifacts. Considered one of the most beautiful stadiums in the country, Kenan Stadium, built in a natural amphitheatre south of Polk Place, seats 50,500 fans.
