         Aesculus carnea

         The Fort Mcnair Red Horse Chestnut is a medium sized tree with pink flowers with yellow eyes in midspring. Its dark green palm shaped leaves turn yellow in the fall. The tree reaches a mature height of 35' tall and 25' wide.
