Carolina Hall, formerly known as Saunders Hall, was renamed in 2015 by the Board of Trustees. In 2014, students called for William L. Saunders’ name to be removed from the building because of his leadership in the Ku Klux Klan. The Trustees researched the issue, solicited public feedback and ultimately voted in favor of renaming the building.
