          John T. Harrington Forestry Research Center is the only university research facility focusing on forestry (forest nursery Harrington technologies, tree improvement, and restoration and reforestation) in the Southwestern U.S. This ASC maintains a unique multi-university/state agency collaboration for research, at Mora teaching, and outreach efforts. Sitting upon approximately 121.03 acres (owned by NMSU), this ASC is the largest producer of forest seedlings in the Southwestern U.S. These seedlings are used to restore disturbed forests after fire and mining operations on both public and private land. John T. Harrington Forestry Research Center was established in 1972, and is located in Mora, NM in Mora County.
